Mungo Campbell junior (1805-66) was more commonly known as "White Mungo" Campbell, a partner in Glasgow sugar merchants John Campbell Senior & Co.

The letters to Archibald Campbell are all, bar one, to addresses in London. As this was the time of the Indian Mutiny, was Archibald out of the country?

On the 12th January 1823 the Heritors of the Parish were - Miss Campbell of Glendaruel, John Campbell Esq of Southall, John Campbell Esq of Ormidale, Mrs Fletcher of Dunans, and Donald (?) McChananich Esq of Achadacheranbeg.
